Logistics Accountant (IATA Specialist)

About the Role

We are seeking a diligent and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. This role is crucial for managing the financial operations within our dynamic logistics company, with a particular focus on air export and import activities and IATA-related transactions.

Key Responsibilities

Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.

Process and reconcile IATA billing and settlement plans (BSP/CASS) for air freight shipments.

Ensure accurate recording of export/import revenue, costs, and accruals specific to air cargo operations.

Prepare financial statements, reports, and analyses related to logistics operations.

Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Liaise with operational teams to ensure accurate financial documentation for shipments.

Handle customs duty and tax related entries and reconciliations.

Requirements

Minimum of 2-4 years of progressive accounting experience.

Proven experience working within a logistics or freight forwarding company.

Demonstrated understanding and experience with IATA billing and settlement procedures for air cargo.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Nice to Have

CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.

Experience with specific logistics ERP systems.

Knowledge of other freight modes (ocean, road).

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
